Introduction to Gnosis

How Much Do Gnosis Classes Cost in South Africa?

Gnosis classes with the School of Gnosis: South Africa cost nothing to join. The weekly classes at our Midrand centre are donation-based: there is no fee, no membership and no minimum, and financial difficulty will never keep anyone out. Students who find the work valuable sustain the class with what they choose to give.

What do the classes cost?

Nothing to attend. You register your interest for free, you receive the venue details for free, and you attend the weekly class without paying a fee at any point. If you wish to contribute, a donation is welcome and is what keeps the centre running; if you cannot, you attend on exactly the same footing as everyone else.

Why are the classes donation-based?

Because the purpose of a Gnostic school is to share the teaching with anyone who sincerely seeks it, and a fee at the door would turn away precisely the people it exists for. The tradition itself set the example: Samael Aun Weor, whose writings form the introductory curriculum taught in Gnostic centres worldwide, wrote more than seventy books and renounced copyright on all of them so that the knowledge could circulate freely. A donation-based class is the same principle applied to the room you sit in.

Is there a membership or joining fee?

No. There is no membership to buy and no obligation to continue. Each session builds on the one before, so consistent weekly attendance is what makes the course worthwhile, but you remain free to step away at any time, without cost and without further contact from us.

What if I cannot afford to give anything?

Then you come anyway. Nobody is turned away for lack of means, and nobody is asked why they have not donated. The only requirement for the class is a sincere interest in understanding yourself.

Where and when are the classes?

At the Midrand Gnostic Centre, between Johannesburg and Pretoria and reachable by Gautrain to Midrand station. Classes are weekly and in person at Rabie Ridge Community Hall in Midrand, and the day and time are announced at the introductory lecture. Students travel in from Johannesburg, Sandton, Centurion and Pretoria each week.

What do you get for your donation?

A progressive introductory course in Gnosis: a weekly talk on one topic, from esoteric psychology to meditation and the Kabbalah, paired with practical work you apply in daily life, and a community of students walking the same path. What you will not get is anything to buy, because the teaching is the point and the teaching is free. How to register
