The School of Gnosis: South Africa is a school of self-knowledge. We provide in-depth psychological, spiritual and esoteric education through practical weekly classes, held at our centre in Midrand, Gauteng, and based on the ancient universal Gnostic wisdom found in the authentic spiritual traditions of all ages.
Who We Are
A School That Teaches Universal Gnosticism
We teach universal Gnosticism in the lineage of Samael Aun Weor: a curriculum spanning meditation, esoteric psychology, consciousness and self-transformation, the Hebraic Kabbalah, alchemy, karma and reincarnation, dream yoga and astral projection. Eastern and Western traditions are studied side by side, so you come to recognise the universal thread connecting all religions.
Classes are open to anyone, regardless of background, experience, religious tradition or financial means. The introductory lectures are free. The weekly classes that follow are run on donations. Nobody is turned away.
Our approach is ontological, meaning Being-centred. We hold that the psyche is built from the core of our essence, the Being, and our teaching unites clinical and scientific psychology with the perennial wisdom of the great traditions. What Is a Gnostic Esoteric School?
A Gnostic esoteric school is a space for sincere seekers of inner truth. It preserves and transmits the specialised knowledge that the great traditions kept for those who asked deeper questions, and it provides the practical methods for achieving spiritual realisation, rather than theory alone.
The objective of such a school is the awakening of consciousness. Its curriculum spans meditation techniques, esoteric psychology, karma and reincarnation, astral projection, alchemy and Kabbalah, and its emphasis falls always on direct personal experience: you are asked to verify, never to believe.
Gnosis teaches that every new order is preceded by chaos, and that the only real and lasting change begins with a revolution of consciousness within each individual. Our classes exist to give that inner revolution a practical method and a supportive community.
Where We Meet
Our Centre in Midrand, Gauteng
Our centre is at Rabie Ridge Community Hall on the eastern side of Midrand, next to Tembisa, between Johannesburg and Pretoria. Students join us weekly from across Gauteng, including Sandton, Rosebank, Fourways, Randburg, Centurion, Hatfield, Menlyn, Kempton Park and Alberton, by car, minibus taxi or Gautrain to Midrand station and a taxi from there.
