Our next introductory lectures

Each intake opens with a free introductory lecture, usually given more than once so you can pick the sitting that fits your week. The lecture gives an overview of what the classes cover and how they run, with a short guided meditation and time for questions afterwards.

The lectures are held at Rabie Ridge Community Hall, 437 Korhaan Cres, Rabie Ridge, Johannesburg, 1688. You do not need to book, just come along. Dates change with each intake, so if none are listed or the dates have passed, send a WhatsApp to +27 79 678 0991 and we will tell you the next one. You can also call 071 117 2380.

Getting there

The community centre is in Rabie Ridge, on the eastern side of Midrand next to Tembisa. It is easiest to reach by car or minibus taxi, and there is parking at the centre. If you are coming by Gautrain, get off at Midrand station and take a taxi or a lift from there, it is a short trip by road.

What Will You Learn in a Gnosis Course?

A Gnosis course teaches practical self-knowledge: how your psychology works, why the consciousness sleeps, and the techniques used across the world's great wisdom traditions to awaken it. It is knowledge verified through direct personal experience, not belief, and not merely intellectual study.

Gnosis is often called the Doctrine of Synthesis because it gathers the essential truths running through the ancient mystery schools, religions and esoteric traditions, while predating and belonging to none of them. Its four pillars are science, philosophy, art and religion, and its signpost always points inward: toward the divine spark within every human being.

Why Study Ontological Psychology Now?

Ontological, or Being-centered, Psychology holds that our psychism is built from the core of our essence, the Being. It offers an integral model of the human being that unites clinical and scientific psychology with the perennial wisdom of the great traditions.

We live in a period when old paradigms, social, moral, economic and cultural, are visibly breaking down. Gnosis teaches that every new order is preceded by chaos, and that the only real and lasting change begins with a revolution of consciousness within each individual. This course exists to give that inner revolution a practical method and a supportive community.

Topics of Study

The introductory course moves step by step through a curriculum of psychological, esoteric and mystical subjects, including:

The foundations of Gnosis

Knowledge through experience rather than belief; the four pillars; the Four Ways (Fakir, Monk, Yogi and the Fourth Way)

Our psychological constitution

Essence, personality and the pluralised "I"; the five centres of the human machine; the three brains and the three minds

The awakening of consciousness

The four states of consciousness, why consciousness sleeps, self-observation, and practical techniques for awakening
